About Seema Kumar
Seema Kumar, currently a Director at Smile Foundation, is a leader in the development sector who has dedicated her life to working with women, children and differently abled individuals. With over 35 years of professional experience, her journey spans education planning and policy at NCERT, work towards promoting inclusion of persons with disabilities, along with extensive work in women’s empowerment and education initiatives. She also specialises in design and execution of CSR projects. Throughout her career, she has consistently championed the rights and opportunities of adolescent girls, women, and marginalized communities. At present, her work focuses on making education accessible for everyone, strengthening life skills education, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), entrepreneurship development. These initiatives aim to equip young people, especially girls, with the confidence, resilience, and practical skills needed to lead empowered and independent lives in the twenty-first century.
