About Satviki Varma
Satviki Varma is a development professional with extensive experience leading multi-sectoral programmes across health, gender, adolescent wellbeing and digital safety in India and globally. She currently leads programmes at Girl Effect India, where she has been closely involved in the organisation’s work to address technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) through research, youth engagement, school-based interventions, digital campaigns and multi-stakeholder partnerships. Her work includes leading the development and scale-up of Tipi Tipi Talk, a school-based digital safety programme, and contributing to Girl Effect’s wider India vs Tech Hinsa initiative, which brings together behaviour change, storytelling, education and systems-level engagement to prevent and respond to online gender-based violence. Previously, Satviki has worked with the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Aga Khan Foundation, John Snow India (JSI), and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Geneva. Her experience spans programme strategy, human-centred design and locally led development, including initiatives reaching over 150,000 households across 11 states. A former journalist, she brings together systems thinking and storytelling to drive social change and build safer, more equitable environments for young people.
