About Manoj Shakya
Dr. Manoj Shakya is an Associate Professor and Former Acting Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Kathmandu University, Nepal. He received his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where his research focused on deep learning. He also holds a Master’s in Computer Science and Technology from Hunan University, China, and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering from Kathmandu University.With over 25 years of academic experience, Dr. Shakya delivers numerous invited talks internationally, served on technical program committees for IEEE conferences, and contributed extensively to AI education and policy discussions in Nepal.Dr. Shakya has published research in leading journals and conferences and has been awarded multiple research grants, including from the University Grants Commission of Nepal, NAST, and international organizations such as IDRC. He is an executive member of the Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN) and a member of IEEE.
