About Jency Jacob
Jency Jacob is a senior editorial leader with 26 years of experience spanning business television, digital journalism, and fact-checking. He built and runs two editorial operations simultaneously: BOOM, India's first IFCN-certified fact-checking newsroom, and The Core, a business news platform and daily newsletter. Jency set up India's first fact-checking newsroom in 2016 and now leads a team of 20 fact-checkers working across India, Myanmar, and Bangladesh to counter misinformation and communally sensitive disinformation that can carry real-world consequences. He brings rare depth across TV news alongside digital strategy, newsletter editorial, and multilingual newsroom management. A hands-on editor equally comfortable with breaking news, long-form analysis, and forward planning for major business and economic stories, Jency is a regular speaker at national and international conferences on the fight against misinformation and the media's role in countering it with credible, fact-based journalism.
