About Gerard Mukhia
Gerard Mukhia has spent almost a decade at Rescue Foundation, one of India's longest-running anti-trafficking organisations, working across communications, rehabilitation and frontline operations. He has taken part directly in rescue operations, and brings that ground-level view to how the organisation documents and communicates its work. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, Gerard started the Ekatra project, which trains survivors in shelter homes to become trainers and teachers for their peers. Ekatra is now fully survivor-led. Gerard also consults with other anti-trafficking organisations, on communications, reporting and programme storytelling. His work focuses on turning frontline experience into evidence that funders, platforms and policymakers can act on.
