About Dr Abigail Bentley
Dr Abigail Bentley is an independent researcher and social scientist specialising in violence, trauma, and mental health. She has held academic positions at University College London, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the University of Valencia. She was lead researcher and author of Chayn's 'Not Just Nudes' study, investigating image-based abuse in Pakistan and its diaspora. She has led research and evaluation across academia and civil society, including with Chayn, the UK Department for Education, the UK Youth Endowment Fund, and Save the Children, alongside sustained work with specialist organisations addressing violence and abuse, particularly within South Asian communities.
